The indoor unit should be positioned where it can distribute air across the occupied space without creating a constant draught onto a bed, sofa or desk. It also needs enough clearance for airflow and future filter cleaning and servicing.
The best wall is not always the one closest to the outdoor unit. Room shape, furniture, doors, windows and heat sources all affect air movement. Condensate drainage must also be possible from the chosen position.
Doherty's Glasgow air-conditioning service surveys the room before installation so comfort, pipe routing, drainage and appearance can be considered together. A slightly longer but better-planned route can be preferable to a badly placed unit that is uncomfortable to use.
