Is domestic air conditioning worth it in Glasgow?

It can be worthwhile if you have rooms that regularly overheat, a home office that becomes uncomfortable, a loft room with high solar gain or you want efficient room-by-room heating as well as cooling. Modern split air-conditioning systems are reversible heat pumps, so they can provide heating in cooler weather as well as summer cooling.

The value depends on how often you will use it, which rooms need treatment and whether the system can be positioned neatly. Glasgow does not have the same climate as southern Europe, so the case is usually about comfort in specific rooms rather than cooling an entire house all summer.

Doherty's Glasgow air-conditioning service covers bedrooms, living rooms, lofts, garden rooms and home offices. A survey can establish whether one or more rooms would genuinely benefit before equipment is specified.
