Slow warm-up can be caused by more than boiler size. The heating controls, flow temperature, radiator output, system balance, circulation, insulation and how the property is used all affect how quickly rooms reach temperature.
Older Glasgow properties can have high ceilings, large rooms and older radiators, while converted flats may have heating systems that have been altered several times. If only some rooms are slow, balancing or radiator sizing may be relevant. If the whole property struggles, the boiler settings, controls and total heat output should be assessed together.
Energy Saving Trust guidance recommends using effective controls and the lowest comfortable room temperature, normally around 18–21°C for most people. Doherty's Glasgow boiler and heating service can review the appliance, controls and radiators rather than assuming a larger boiler is always the answer.
