Frequent short on-and-off cycles can happen when the boiler reaches temperature very quickly or cannot transfer heat through the system as expected. Causes can include control settings, poor circulation, system imbalance, low heat demand, an oversized appliance or a component fault.
First note whether the behaviour happens only in mild weather, only for hot water, or every time the heating operates. Also check whether rooms actually reach the set temperature. Do not change internal boiler parameters unless instructed by a competent engineer or the manufacturer's user guidance.
A Glasgow heating engineer can check the controls, flow temperature, radiator demand and circulation to determine whether the cycling is normal modulation behaviour or a fault. Doherty's boiler service covers both appliance and wider heating-system checks.
