A loft can sometimes be used for a boiler in a Glasgow house, but it has to be a practical and safe service location. The installer needs to consider access, lighting, flooring around the appliance, frost protection, pipe routes, the flue, condensate drainage and whether the structure and location satisfy the boiler manufacturer's installation requirements.
Loft installations can also make maintenance more awkward if access is poor. In Glasgow winters, exposed pipework and condensate routes must be designed with freezing risk in mind. A long gas run or difficult flue route may also make a loft relocation significantly more expensive than keeping the boiler close to the existing services.
Do not assume a loft position is suitable simply because there is space. It should be surveyed before the job is priced. Doherty can assess boiler position, flue and condensate requirements as part of a Glasgow boiler installation quotation.
